Wow! The motion depicted in this piece is superb, and the sketchy feeling matches it ver well. You can see the serpeant streaking by the minescule warriors. The tail even seams to wip as it takes a sharp serpentine path. The glowing tongue especially is superb. You can feel how large the creature is by putting yourself in the tiny warriors' shoes; it almost makes you shiver just thinking about how much shock would be brought upon you. The only criticism I could provide for this is maybe do more to the background. I really can't come up with any problems though.
I was very surprised to stumble upon this wonderful image realizing how very few people have actually seen it, and what a stunning piece of digital art it is !
The first feature that caught my eye was the dynamic feeling of movement that flowed throughout the entire piece. You get the feeling that perhaps maybe you are one of the soldiers and this leviathan is rushing past you. Judging from the distance that the viewer is from the other soldiers, the enormity of the scale used in this image begins to become clear. What a grand use of color to draw the viewer to the key elements. The more muted earth like colors that make up the majority of this piece contrast wonderfully with the striking reds and yellows used to characterize the soldiers and creature. The image gives off a very 300/Clash of the Titans feel and I love it ! The textures help bring depth and detail to the image and the barren and jagged landscape also supplement the ferocious creature.
All in all I really enjoyed this piece and hope others will as well !
The sense of movement in this piece is just.... incredible. I personally don't really like the colour scheme (although it is quite unique), but the way it twists across the page and blurs at the edges is just perfect. It's as if it's moving too fast for my eyes to focus on it!
At first glance i thought this was on water, and I didn't notice what the warriors were until I read the critiques. I figured they were drops of blood from the monster.
5 STAR!
